Buxton awarded Spectra Dandenong Apartments & Hotel 

We are thrilled to announce that Buxton Construction has been awarded the contract for the Design and Construction of Spectra Apartments and Hotel in Dandenong.

This project comprises the construction of a 20-level building, with levels one to three dedicated to 56 one and two bedroom apartments and 98 luxury hotel suites.

Spectra boasts views of Port Phillip Bay, Dandenong Ranges and the Melbourne CBD and will be the tallest building to grace the Dandenong skyline.

Duncan King and Shannon McKenzie join the Buxton team 

Buxton Construction recently appointed two new staff members – Duncan King as Estimating Manager and Shannon McKenzie as Senior Estimator.

Duncan King has more than 24 years’ experience in construction estimating and cost planning in both national and international markets. Through leading multiple tenders in excess of $100m, Duncan brings wide-ranging industry knowledge to the role.

With experience working at tier 1 organisations and across a range of high value projects including the $430 million VICPOL headquarters in Spencer Street in Melbourne and the $420 million EQ Ritz Carlton in Perth, Shannon is an expert in his field.

We welcome Duncan and Shannon to the team.

GSA Student Accommodation  

Buxton Construction has commenced construction at Queensberry Street Student Accommodation in Carlton.

This project encompasses the construction of a 14-level student accommodation building, featuring 177 units and an array of communal spaces including a gym, study areas and kitchens. The existing brick façade will be maintained.

Harrow Street Car Park Project commences 

Construction has commenced at Harrow Street Multi-Deck Car Park, Box Hill with site establishment now complete. Demolition and bulk excavation works are progressing well, which will be followed by ground services footings.

This project comprises the construction of a five-level car park, two tenancy spaces, motorbike and bicycle parking facility as well as external landscaping.

Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club – Complete 

The world-class Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club boasts a fusion of homely traditional-style clubhouse with contemporary design, featuring a striking pitched roof, porte cochere, distinctive cathedral-style ceilings and expansive alfresco dining areas.

The 6,000m² clubhouse spans three levels and features a function room, dining areas, bars, members’ facilities, pro shop, buggy store, indoor swimming pool, spa room, wellness centre, gymnasium as well as premium five-star accommodation on the tenth hole and on level one of the clubhouse.

Final development of Sandy Hill trilogy reaches completion 

Buxton is delighted to announce The Reserve, the final building of the Sandy Hill trilogy, has reached completion. The Reserve features 120 premium apartments over five-levels with two-levels of basement car parking and one retail tenancy.

The $135 million, award winning Sandy Hill precinct was designed in three architectural models, beginning construction in 2012. The two hectare precinct has large outdoor spaces with more than 60 per cent of the development dedicated to landscaped gardens and walkways.

Completion of BlueCross Box Hill  

We are pleased to announce that BlueCross, Box Hill has reached completion. This $50 million development comprised the construction of a three-storey building featuring 171 spacious residents’ rooms and communal amenities including a lounge, dining rooms, gymnasium, cinema, library, hairdressing salon and café.

This development strengthens Buxton Construction’s position as a leader in retirement living and aged within the industry.

Jeremy Laird appointed Operations Manager  

Jeremy brings over twenty years of project and operational management experience and has previously held senior construction management roles with leading Tier 1 construction organisations. His experience includes the successful delivery of projects in education, retail,
high-density residential, recreation, hotel, warehousing and commercial sectors.

In his new role of Operations Manager, Jeremy will be a valuable member of the senior leadership team and assist with the realisation of Buxton Construction’s strategic management plan.
