Construction to commence on Geelong Homemaker Centre, Waurn ponds 

Construction will commence shortly on Geelong Homemaker Centre, a 13,500 square-metre bulky goods retail precinct with associated car parking located next to the Waurn Ponds Hotel and adjacent to two existing retail centres.

“A number of heritage, environmental and physical constraints associated with the site had to be overcome and Buxton Construction was instrumental in providing solutions to these issues,” said Ian Robertson principal of CRS Property, leasing agent for Geelong Homemaker Centre. According to Ian Robertson, furniture, bedding and outdoor specialist, Super Amart has committed to the centre as the anchor tenant and a range of retailers are being sought for the remainder of the tenancies.

Buxton's project Sandy Hill receives award from the Master Builders Association of Victoria 

We are proud to announce we have been awarded the overall WINNER of the Master Builders Association of Victoria, Excellence in Construction Award for High-rise Apartment Buildings for Sandy Hill Apartments in Sandringham. New project – The Bayside Masonic development 

Buxton Construction is thrilled to announce that they have won a competitive tender for The Bayside Masonic development.

The Bayside Masonic development in Gardenvale includes construction of an $18 million (approx.) building over four levels, comprising retail/showroom space, car parking, commercial offices and the Freemasons Lodge with function facilities.

Andrew Hume appointed director at Buxton Construction 

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Andrew Hume as Director of Buxton Construction. This new appointment will align with Buxton’s strategic decision to focus on the growth of the business.

Andrew is delighted to take on this new role working alongside current sole director Andrew Briggs as he enjoys the culture within the company and sees a positive future in the direction in which Buxton are heading. Andrew joined the company two years ago as the Estimating and Business Development Manager. During this time, Andrew has fitted in seamlessly within the team and has established himself as a pivotal member of the company.

Andrew has an extensive career in the construction industry; previously holding senior positions in Estimating and Cost Planning at Abigroup, Brookfield Multiplex and Costain. These positions played an essential role in many Melbourne landmark projects, including Australia on Collins, Melbourne Convention Centre, Federation Square and the Southern Cross Development.

With enduring business relationships throughout Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia, and a history of successfully delivering large-scale and well-recognised projects around Melbourne and abroad, Andrew is perfectly placed to help lead Buxton to undertake projects in excess of $50 million in the near future.

$34K Raised for the Maddie Riewoldt foundation through True Believers Function 

Buxton Construction supports a number of various charities including Maddie Reiwoldt’s Vision (MRV) who provides research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome. The Buxton Construction management team were heavily involved with organising the True Believers Charity Function that proudly raised over $34K, which was donated directly to Maddie Reiwoldt’s vision.

Hester Canterbury opened to the public  in October 2015. Hester Canterbury comprises 34 stylish urban retirement apartments with a basement car park. Common areas include a gym, formal and casual lounge spaces, dining room, library and bar server.
