Kingston Heath clubhouse
completed ahead of schedule

Work had commenced on the $5.85 million refurbishment and extension of the clubhouse at Kingston Heath Golf Club, when the Premier John Brumby announced that the 2009 Australian Masters would be held at the course.

Buxton Construction had to immediately reschedule to have all works completed prior to the Masters but the spirit of co-operation that existed between the all the parties involved saw the project finished ahead of the revised contract date.

Buxton's task was made more complex because the club maintained its normal operations while the work was being carried out and it was crucial to keep disruption to members to a minimum.

Demaine Partnership's Simon Hanger – the supervising architect – played a pivotal role in the end result, working closely with Buxton Construction and the club from day one through to completion of the project.  Simon, club officials and the development committee along with Buxton’s on-site team operated as a cohesive unit to achieve the optimum result.

By working together as a team, cost-neutral alternatives were agreed on along the way that ensured the tight program and quality was not jeopardised in any way.
