The new 3 level structure at Beth Rivkah Ladies College in East St Kilda is designed by Melbourne based architects McIldowie Partners.
The $3.8 million project is attached to an existing auditorium and includes the construction of a basement consisting of computer and music tuition areas, with a further 2 levels over consisting of language centre and performing arts studio.
To the west of the existing structure is a new glazed atrium area consisting of a 2 level volume space for student’s social activities and meeting areas.
The small campus is densely occupied by buildings allowing only limited access to the construction site, severely limiting the works zone for buildability as well as within an occupied operating school, requiring careful planning and management from the Buxton Construction staff.
