Aquatic Centre
Construction of a new single-level community aquatic centre incorporating a 50-metre Austral lap pool, leisure pool, hydrotherapy pool, toddlers pool and associated aquatic play equipment.
The structure comprises piled footings, a structural steel frame, lightweight external cladding to walls, extensive external glazed facades and metal deck roofing. There are 50-metre stainless-steel and insitu pools within the complex.
The $20 million project also includes a gymnasium, fitness program rooms, change rooms and amenities, administration facilities, creche and cafe as well as external winter gardens and landscaping. One of the main features with the facility is the winter garden which brings the external water play areas inside enabling these areas to be used all year round.
The facility is also designed to be energy efficient with automatically controlled ventilation louvers.
