117-119 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn

Prior to being awarded the contract to construct the five-level serviced apartment and 5 green star office complex at 117 - 119 Camberwell Road Hawthorn, Buxton Construction was engaged to provide consulting services on a wide range of construction and buildability issues to the developer and architect.

The building, which has three levels of basement parking, comprises 5,000 square-metres of 5 green star office space across the five levels plus serviced apartments with a combination of compact studios and larger twin-key, three-bedroom apartments to accommodate families.

Both the offices and apartments share the common area basement car parking yet the building is separated midway with the apartments fronting the residential Harold Street and the offices from Camberwell Road.  Each area is serviced by their own separate lifts and stairs.

The ground floor has a double-height foyer incorporating water features and a cafe with alfresco dining facilities to Camberwell Road.  Pre-cast concrete panels combined with extensive glazing in-fill - incorporating ESD principles - form the building's facade.
